electronics plants. The electronics industry became it's main industry.
During that decade the population increased from about 3,500 to about 14,000. Today's industries include electronics, manufacturing and telecommunications.
The city's location, on the SF peninsula, makes it an ideal base for driving to S Francisco, the East Bay or the Silicon Valley area. If you prefer public transit, the Caltrain commuter train stops there on its route between SF and Gilroy.
